Forklift Hit a Frame? Your 24/7 Emergency Racking Repair Options

By Rackstor UK Ltd

A damaged upright can shut down an entire aisle. Here's what to do in the first hour — and how Rackstor's 24/7 emergency response works.

First hour: make it safe

Cordon off the affected bays, destock the damaged frame and the bays either side, and isolate any nearby battery charging or sprinkler equipment. Do not attempt to push the upright back into position.

Photograph the damage and call your inspector. Rackstor's emergency line (0800 6546955) is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year.

Temporary propping vs full replacement

Engineered temporary props can restore safe load capacity within hours while a permanent repair is scheduled — vital for retailers and 3PLs running peak operations.

Permanent repair always means replacing the damaged section with an identical OEM component, not welded plates or splice kits unless specifically engineered.

Preventing the next hit

Upright protectors, end-of-aisle barriers and floor-mounted guide rails dramatically reduce repeat damage. Rackstor can specify and install protection during any repair visit.
