A warehouse racking installation is a significant investment. Getting the planning right before you order saves time, money and compliance headaches later.
Start With a Warehouse Survey
Every successful installation starts with a thorough survey establishing usable floor area, clear height to roof steels and sprinkler heads, column positions, drains and fire exits, and floor slab loading capacity. These factors determine what systems are feasible and where each run should be positioned.
Skipping the survey leads to costly modifications during installation.
Choosing the Right Racking System
The right system depends on the goods you are storing, the height you can achieve, and the materials handling equipment you are using. Adjustable pallet racking suits most applications. Narrow aisle systems maximise space but require specialist trucks. Drive-in racking suits high-volume, low-SKU operations.
Rackstor Trading will help you choose the most cost-effective system.
Compliance Requirements
All warehouse racking installations must comply with SEMA guidelines, HSG76 and BS EN 15635. Every bay must display a load notice. The installation must be carried out by a SEIRS registered contractor and signed off with a completion certificate.
Rackstor Trading is SEIRS registered and includes a completion certificate and load notices as standard.
